Fall is here! Ahh, the time of pumpkins, apple cider, crisp air, and hoodies. It’s such a great time of year, and I seriously love all the flavors of this season. Since I’m feeling fall-inspired, I want to share with you a recipe that is a definite fall favorite in our house: Pumpkin Portobello Bolognese sauce!
I know, I know, I already have a bolognese sauce recipe on the blog. But this one is special, and it only comes out one time of year around here (because just like how I don’t play Christmas carols in June, I don’t rock the pumpkin flavors until September hits).
This recipe was inspired by one that used to be on Georgie Fear’s blog, but her site was hacked a while ago and the recipe hasn’t made a reappearance yet. If it ever does, I’ll link back to it here.

Without further ado… I present one of my favorite fall comfort food dishes:
I use this BIG pan with high sides. It holds a lot, and the non-stick on it is amazing!
Brown the beef in a large pot until cooked through.
Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms, cook until soft.
Add tomatoes, sauce, garlic, pumpkin, and spices.
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Serve over pasta, spaghetti squash, or zucchini noodles.
Leave a comment below and let me know what you think if you give this one a try. What are some other fall favorites in your house?
Oh, and if you want some guidance on making healthy meals like this EASIER, check out the free guide at the bottom of the post!
