Happy Friday everyone!
It’s about time for another round of Articles of Awesomeness! Check out these great articles from Priscilla Aloysius, Jessie Mundell, and Izzy Libmann!
First up is a post from a lovely lady I had the pleasure of meeting at the Women’s Fitness Summit in August, Priscilla Aloysius. She’s a teacher in NYC and this post about letting go of scale weight and finding all the other numbers in your life that add up to the amazingness of YOU is SO fabulous! As a bit of a preview, here’s a snippet from my favorite part:
“In short, the number on the scale is not even close to representing what it means to have a fit, happy, full life. It is simply not big enough to be allowed to take up so much space in my consciousness and self-image. We are just so much more.”
I’m so excited to share some of Jessie’s brilliance with you, because she is a rockstar when it comes to pre- and postnatal exercise. I’ve written a bit about loving your postpartum body before, but that message is not heard nearly often enough! I know that it’s SO hard to start loving your body when you’ve spent years, or even decades, hating it and trying to punish it into a smaller version of itself. HOW do we start to learn to love this body as-is? Jessie helps you start here.
“It doesn’t have anything to do with what my body shape LOOKS like. This took me years to “get”. I was of the mindset for so long that I’d be able to love my body when my abs looked like ________, and my legs looked like _________, and my arms looked like __________. Fortunately, that’s not true. I want to continue teaching myself how to love my body regardless of it’s shape. I want YOU to continue teaching yourself how to love your body regardless of it’s current shape. Actually, scratch that. I want you and I to continue teaching ourselves how to love our bodies BECAUSE of their current shapes.”
Lastly, a guest post on Josh Hillis’s blog is one right after my own taco-loving heart. We all know meal planning is such a wallet AND waistline saver, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start! Izzy helps you out here AND gives you a great taco recipe (because you can never have too many taco recipes)!
I've found that the biggest hurdle most clients have is the Diet Mindset that's taken hold of them. They've been stuck hating their bodies and fearing "bad foods" for so long that they don't know any other way!
So I took all of the important mindset work I do with clients and compiled it into an epic resource of a book for you. It is a complete guide to repairing your relationship with food, so you can finally get rid of those diet-mindset shackles and find peace with food for good!
